IMPORTANT! Please note that the competition will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 8:00 am. - 12:00 p.m., instead of April 16th. The official ACT-SO Orientation and the completed application is still due on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the NAACP Office, 1725 Oakhurst Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32208, or if they are unable to attend, it may be mailed before that date. 

Please do all that you can to encourage your students to participate.

The NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.

ACT-SO includes 26 categories of competition in the sciences, humanities, business, and performing and visual arts. More than 260,000 young people have participated from the program since its inception.
