Seniors
attending UNF in the coming school year should apply to the Quality for the
Ultimate Educational Success Today (QUEST) Program. QUEST is a
year-long experience of academic and personal development for underrepresented
incoming college freshmen at the University of North Florida. QUEST aims to
ease the transition from high school to college by helping students acclimate
to the academic and social aspects of college life. Please find the program
details, eligibility requirements, and application information below.
QUEST Intensive (June 15 – July 1, 2016)
QUEST begins with an intensive two-and-a-half-week
orientation to the University, which includes:

Building skills essential to college success, including English,
Math, Computer, and Study Skills
·
Becoming familiar with university services and resources
·
Learning about opportunities for involvement in campus life
and student activities
·
Connecting with other incoming and returning UNF students,
including a UNF peer mentor
·
*Please note that housing is not included in the Intensive
QUEST
Intensive 2016 Dates:
June
15 - July 1, 2016 (Monday through Friday) 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
QUEST and Beyond (Ongoing)
QUEST participants meet regularly throughout the academic year
to build community, develop leadership and personal skills, and receive ongoing
support in their first year of college. The Spring Semester will culminate with
a First Year Capstone, in which the group will celebrate their accomplishments
in their first year.
Students who complete the program are eligible for a $500
scholarship. ICP understands that the transition from high school to college
can be challenging, and we have heard from many past participants that QUEST
has been beneficial as they adjust to this new environment.
The eligibility requirements of the program are as
follows:
•
Be formally admitted to the University of North
Florida for Summer B or Fall 2016 as a first-time incoming college freshman
•
Be a resident of the State of Florida
•
Identify as a student of color or other
under-represented group
