Grinnell College

Thank you for reminding your students that Grinnell College’s priority deadline for merit scholarships is fast approaching. There is no separate application process for merit scholarships, but priority consideration is given to students who submit their Early Decision II and Regular Decision applications for admission by December 1 (students who choose to apply Early Decision I are given priority consideration for merit scholarships because the EDI deadline is November 15).

Merit scholarships recognize outstanding holistic achievement, taking into account each student's academic accomplishments, extracurricular involvement, demonstrated leadership, and special talents. Merit scholarships at Grinnell are awarded in exactly the same way for Early Decision and Regular Decision applicants.

Please note that for Early Decision II and Regular Decision applications, only the
Common Application must be submitted by December 1. Supporting materials--including test scores, transcripts, and recommendations--can be submitted after the deadline and students will still receive priority consideration for all of our scholarships.

Please remember our application deadlines:
Early Decision IIJanuary 1, 2018
Regular DecisionJanuary 15, 2018

If you have any questions about merit scholarships at Grinnell, please let us know!

Regards,

Sarah Fischer

Director of Admission
