Please see your School Counselor for more information

OneJax is now recruiting teens for Metrotown Institute, our annual teen diversity leadership program. Celebrating its 26h year, Metrotown Institute will assemble high school students to explore living together successfully in an increasingly diverse and interdependent world. This year’s program will be held June 18 – 21 at Riverside Presbyterian Church.

During the four days of the Metrotown Institute, the youth engage in dialogue, art activities, games and team building exercises, among other things, around the topics of bias, bigotry, prejudice, discrimination, and racism.  Participants share ideas and feelings, discover their unique talents, experience a variety of perspectives on diversity issues, multicultural communications, religious traditions, gender roles, and self-esteem. Metrotown Institute is a powerful experience that has been proven to impact all who participate and allowing youth to explore the benefits of how they can become part of a change that will improve our community.

The opportunity will provide youth with a life-long network of diverse friends; equip them with tools to deal with issues of prejudice, bullying, discrimination, and racism; empower them to know that they are valued for who they are and their belief systems, and educate them about other cultures and traditions.
