Join Our Team of Passionate Volunteers

We invite you to share your time with Northeast Florida’s only Museum of Science & History! MOSH Volunteers are champions of sharing our mission to inspire lifelong learning. Volunteers donate their time to guide, teach, and inspire Museum guests and ensure their visit is a memorable and enlightening experience. The gift of time creates a friendly, positive atmosphere and provides the necessary support for staff and visitors.

How to Apply

All volunteer candidates must complete an application. If applicants do not select and opt into text messages, your application will not be considered. A working cell phone number and email address that is checked frequently are required. Interviews will be scheduled through email. All volunteer candidates who are selected must have a successfully cleared background check, attend MOSH volunteer orientation, and complete department trainings.

All Teen Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Teen Volunteers can volunteer for multiple years until they graduate from high school or turn 18. Teen Volunteers are required to volunteer at least 8 service hours per school quarter including Spring, Summer, and Winter Breaks. This is not a summer-only volunteering program.  Teen Volunteers must earn a minimum of 100 service hours per year.

Teen Volunteers assist with Spring, Summer and Winter Discovery Camps, Museum special events, educational programming, and preparation for these programs.

Teen Volunteer Applications for the summer of 2024 will open on March 1, 2024, and remain open until March 22, 2024. Teen volunteers will conduct an interview in March, and final decisions will be made by March 31. If you are selected, you must attend an onboarding training in April. Volunteering can begin once a volunteer has completed both orientation and background check paperwork.
